The Kalamazoo Italian American Club running a campaign to collect items for donation to Samaritas, an organization that helps settle refugees into permanent homes and life here in the United States.
Refugees are not here illegally. They are people of all ages who are forced from their own countries by war or political unrest. They cannot return home for fear of persecution because of their race, ethnicity, religion or political affiliations. Many spend years in refugee camps before they are given permission to enter the United States. They arrive with little more than the clothes they are wearing. To learn more, visit Samaritas
